Setting deadlines and to-do lists. Getting things done. One thing on the list is to finally get my butt going on organizing my tumblr blog. I've got to get in gear soon because FTP publishing is being phased out on May 1 over here at Blogger! That leaves me only a few weeks!! Anyway, comments are [finally] working over there on my tumblrnow.
I think the best part of my day today is going to be the Glee premiere tonight.

So I'm being really annoying and blogging in two places. I'm giving Tumblr a trial run to see if I like it before I import it over to my domain here at Frolic. So I've been creating a few posts there. I've also been holding off importing it here because I'm still working on the layout (read: at a standstill) and I don't want to put up anything that I'm not happy with yet.
In the meantime, if you just can't get enough frolic-y goodness, check out my in-progress Tumblr. Also haven't yet got comments working over there.
This week has flown by. FLOWN, I tell you. Tomorrow is Friday, and that's alright with me!! Happy weekend, chickadees :)

Life is all about timing. For 3-4 years now I've wanted to move to Toronto, and for various reasons, the timing has never been right. It's funny how things have to happen in your life in order to let other things happen. (Wow, that's a vague thought, isn't it?) And now, it seems like all my stars are aligning. I just can't express enough how happy I am.
I updated the layout. I wanted something that expressed moving, freedom, drifting, transience. It's simple, but I like it. :)
Oh, and other random thought: job hunters do actually Google you. I spent the better part of my day today looking at resumes for filling my position, and my boss and I were Googling and Facebooking the candidates names to see what they looked like. So, here's a tip: make sure you have a job-hunter-appropriate Facebook profile picture. Just sayin'.

I wanted a new layout, reflecting simplicity and elegance and freshness - and so, here is what I put together this afternoon! Today couldn't have been more perfect for coding a bit of HTML. It was so snowy that I didn't want to venture outside, even though I really need to get some groceries into my fridge. Oops. That's a job for tomorrow after work - ew, work?! Really?!?

I may have just eaten a tortilla filled with pink ground beef. It was sizzling away for a long time and all brown on the outside but still pink on the inside, and so eventually I chalked it up to the all the spices and ketchup I'd put in it and ate it anyway. Hmm. I'm hoping I don't regret this decision in a few hours.
These tortillas are one of my single-girl dinner specialties. However, I'm currently trying to eat up all the meat left in my fridge (and ground beef from my freezer), because as of November 1st I've decided to start a 30-Day Vegetarian Challenge. Yes, it deserves capitals. I've never tried to go vegetarian before, and I feel like it's something that everyone should at least try once in their lives, besides the fact that it's much healthier for you. I find that I don't eat a lot of meat anyway so I'm thinking it shouldn't be so hard, although I think I don't eat enough protein as it is, so I'm going to buy some soy protein powder and start having protein shakes for breakfast. My Vegetarian Challenge is not going to rule out fish, however - a girl's gotta start somewhere, plus it's my birthday in the middle of November and there's no way I'm not eating sushi for it!! I'm really interested in finding out how I'll do and if I'll miss meat at all. We shall see!
Which brings me to my next topic. I'm going to start rounding out this blog and adding some more features. One of which will be blogging about cooking, complete with photos! Well, it'll be about vegetarian cooking for a while... and I'm likely going to be using the Internet for a lot of resources and recipes. I foresee lots of tofu!! I may also throw in a bit of fashion (as I get more and more obsessed every day) and some more photos and who knows what else. I think the layout could use an overhaul as well, and I'm thinking about possibly switching off Blogger...

This is me today, drinking coffee and scribbling about website stuff. Yep, big nerd right here.

Okay, I realise that this layout is totally inappropriate, given that I'm not in BC at the moment and that photo at the top is very BC, but I had to throw something together quickly because I fucked everything up with a new project I'm working on. While I was at it, I actually fixed and updated the "Maresa" page too!
I'm so looking forward to this weekend! So much going on!! And next week I start French classes... ooh la la.

I have added a photography gallery to my site, which can be linked through the side navigation under "Gallery" and you can also click here. And that, ladies and gentlemen, was the finishing touch! (For now.) Yay website!!
In other news, it's been wonderfully hot here this weekend. I've been lying out in the back yard in my bikini and reading my book and reveling in the heat and eating ice cream! I picked blackberries today too, and made them into a blackberry peach pie which was mmm mm tasty.
Also, I have settled on a gym routine that will fit into my school schedule, which consists of working out Monday morning, Thursday after class, and either Saturday or Sunday morning. At least those three times. It's going to be good! :)

Regressing back to being a teenager
This past week I've kind of regressed back to being 13 again, and it's been a lot of fun! I have:a) had a sleepover with my friends (on a school [work] night! oh no!)
b) gone to the Backstreet Boys concert!
Yes, it's been a blast from the past. The sleepover was tons of fun with tons of food, wine, and chatter, even if I did have to be up at 6:30AM the next morning. And, Backstreet Boys were one of my favourite boy bands (N'Sync was probably tied for this #1 position) and so I ended up going to the concert - I will not be ashamed to say I thought it was awesome! I was singing along to all their songs, well not their new ones, and dancing, and laughing. Brian is still hot, Nick is still an arrogant asshole, AJ looked super scruffy and old and not as hot as I thought when I was going through my 'bad boy' phase, and Howie was, well Howie.

It's been a pretty good week. This weekend I have the house to myself because Geoff is at a concert down in Washington state. And I've been loving it! Hehe. My goal for this weekend: to get my website fully functional. The deadline: Monday 8AM.

poo
I am frustrated!!! I registered a domain the other day, and got some hosting for it at a different site, and I can't seem to make the two work together to access my site! How irritating! I have tried infinite combinations of user names and passwords and ftp server names and blah blah and nothing is working! >:(I have a couple ideas for the new site though... working on some layout ideas - nothing fancy, but just doing a few things I've never done before. I'm giving up on getting anything to work tonight though. I'm about ready to put the computer away and curl up with my book before I go to bed - less brain power!!
This was a pointless post. Yay for Friday tomorrow.

Hello Blogger
And hello extremely girlie layout. Come on, I know everyone harbours a secret love for pink. And probably a not so secret love for lingerie.I've decided to move over here from Wordpress because Blogger is so much more customizable. I am actually able to edit my HTML and CSS code, and those are two things which I'm into learning more of at the moment. Especially CSS, which I currently know very little of. But I'm very excited to try more because of all the amazing things you can do with it! Now all I need are a couple uninteruppted afternoons to work on it...
Tonight I hosted my first dinner party. Okay, it wasn't that much of a soiree - we just had Geoff's mom and partner over for dinner - but it was exciting to ME because it was the first time I had actually cooked a meal for anyone with a kitchen table to sit at! And we had wine to drink in my new wine glasses, and it all felt so nice. I bbq'd some turkey burgers and jazzed them up with chipotle goat cheese, tomatoes and avocado pieces as well as a tasty salad. Yum.
Now I can safely say that I have had 2 glasses of wine to drink and my head is feeling a bit fuzzy and I'm suddenly feeling like it's time to pass out in bed (it is only 10:18PM currently so I think I'll tough it out a bit longer). It's funny how wine does that - I guess it's the depressant coming out - but it just seems like wine in particular to any other alcohol makes me feel fuzzy and content and sleepy.
I think I'm actually going to go have a hot shower. I really enjoy steaming hot showers. I don't know if that is weird, but I don't think that other people like showers as hot as I do. I like to gradually turn up the hot until the water feels almost cool because it's so hot. Does that make sense? No past/present boyfriends have ever liked to shower with me because I don't like regular warm showers. One even remarked once that my skin was all red after I got out of the shower because it was so hot. (Maybe I sadistically like 2nd degree burns? Haha.)
Now I just hope I won't fall asleep in the shower...
